Fashion week is over and I’m back celebrating simple life.
It was stressful, I’m not going to lie and say it was a piece of cake, but…
… I am SO GREATFUL to collaborate with this wonderful designer Aleksandra Brlan; thank you for inviting me to be a part of this great occasion. In few weeks we’ll host a showroom with both of our collections from FW (more info coming soon). Now, that all the fuss is over, I can share that my biggest fear was that this huge and heavy pieces would have fallen down while walking down the runway. As you can probably tell from the pictures, I’ve chosen to walk a very thin line between experimental wearable sculptures and actual jewellery while creating this new objects. But it all turned out great and I’m happy! Also the Fashion Week Boutique was once again a great experience, with many great accessories designers that I admire and love to wear such as Pleksimanija and TMpriboljški.
Being backstage gave me a priceless opportunity of seeing all the designs up close and to really feel the passion that comes with designing – it’s not only models, walking down the runway, being flawlessly made up, wearing pieces of clothes. It’s seeing true dedication that comes with the challenge of creating something that represents you as a designer.
The backstage happening was kinda manic, but I managed to get things straight – also thanks to my dear friend Iris for being there in this critical moments, helping me with all the rings and necklaces!
The highlight was definitely looking up that screen, watching the models walking down the runway, actually wearing something that I created and then – that surreal moment – when Aleksandra and I went to the runway to wave to the visitors and cameras. You can see the photo below; my face just froze from all the excitement and adrenalin.
I would also like to take this opportunity and thank fashion blogger and model, the gorgeous Ajda Sitar and Lea Perovšek for wearing my jewellery at fashion week events.
I’m also grateful to all of my dearest people that came to the show for support, and my friend Tea Goljevšček (check out her new page) for this beautiful bouquet of flowers (that she made herself, thank you dear!!). She was also one of the best dressed at the second day of FW!
New challenges ahead of me: opening an Etsy shop only for the Birds collection, showrooming with Aleksandra, writing my diploma about miniature sculptures. It’s going to be one busy era. Stay tuned for more updates and thanks for stopping by!
